New VIC General Manager
Peter Armstrong joins Mainbrace as its new General Manager – Victoria. He is one of Victoria’s highly experienced business, property, investment and development executives.
Over the past 25 years, Peter has held a string of high-profile positions within the public and private sectors, including the Victorian Government, an Australian listed property trust (AREIT) and with the Coles/Coles Myer Group (Coles, Target, Officeworks, Coles Liquor and corporate functions).
Within the Victorian Government and most recently, Peter successfully led Invest Victoria (the Victorian Government’s investment facilitation agency), the Economic Projects Precincts team (major capital works projects, capital transactions, Public Private Partnerships and policy/strategy for state significant precincts) and led and oversaw Places Victoria (now Development Victoria, the Victorian Government’s property development statutory authority).
In the private sector, Peter successfully led the ASX listed Redcape Property Fund, a $1.2 billion AREIT in the leisure, hospitality & retail sector, which is now two ASX listed businesses i.e. the Redcape Hotel Group and Hotel Property Investment. Furthermore, over a 15 year period Peter held senior executive roles in Coles, Target, Officeworks, Coles Liquor and Corporate spanning across general business operations, store and property development, supply chain & logistics, business development & acquisitions and strategy formation and implementation.
Peter takes the reins of the Mainbrace business in Victoria replacing Michael Fague, who has headed back to Sydney due to family commitments. Michael will continue to work closely with Peter and the rest of the Victorian team for some time, ensuring a complete and smooth transition. In NSW Michael will be working to expand and grow the coverage of the business across the broader retail construction market.
