Cadets Kicking Goals

Ensuring our people have the right foundation

Ensuring the success of retail construction projects, we deliver is a top priority at Mainbrace. This success begins with our dedicated and skilled team. Many of our team start with the Mainbrace Cadet Program, which provides the opportunity to experience a broad range of construction roles.

Meet two exceptional talents: Jacqui Mottram and Mia Butcher, who are making significant strides early in their careers in the field of retail construction.

A Construction Management Honours graduate from Victoria University, Jacqui hit the ground running at Mainbrace in mid-2022. Working with seasoned team members, she demonstrated immediate ability in Contract Administration on projects for Woolworths and Coles, then completed her Site Administration rotation at Coles Keysborough.

More than her hard work, positive mindset and commitment – she travels extensively each day – it’s Jacqui’s vibrant personality and enthusiasm for the task at hand that reverberates through the team.

Fellow cadet Mia Butcher has likewise proved an invaluable team member since joining as an undergraduate in September 2021. Also, with Construction Management qualifications from Victoria University, Mia excelled in her Estimating rotation and is currently undertaking her Contract Administration rotation at Harpley Town Centre.

Mia’s passion for sustainability is a great fit with Mainbrace and as she works through her thesis on Management of Construction Waste, she’ll play an increasingly important role driving better environmental outcomes on our projects. She’s great fun too – we love hearing about LARP, her Live Action Role-Play hobby.

According to Simon Etheridge, Estimating Manager, Jacqui and Mia are team members everyone can count on.

IT’S AN INVESTMENT IN TIME AND RESOURCES TO TRAIN OUR CADETS IN THE RIGHT WAY BUT IT’S VERY FULFILLING TO SEE THEM EXCEL, AS JACQUI AND MIA ARE. AS WELL AS THE POSITIVE ENERGY OF BOTH WOMEN, WE ALSO BENEFIT FROM THE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES THEY BRING, WHICH HELPS US ALL GROW
