Making heartfelt strides for a cause
Five teams from our Victorian business braved the cold, dark and damp conditions of the Mornington Peninsula to take part in Coastrek 2023 in May. We’re proud to say that together, they raised an incredible $11,560 for The Heart Foundation in the process.
In all, there were 18 Victorian Mainbracers who took part, and they did it the hard way. We had two teams take on the 60km trek from Greens Bush to Point Nepean, an immensely challenging feat walking mostly through windy beachside and undulating bush conditions. Additionally, three teams participated in the 20km walk from Sorrento Front Beach to Point Nepean.
Coastrek is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, have an adventure with our teammates away from the office and work-site, while raising important funds for a worthwhile cause. Notwithstanding the sore muscles and aching joints, of course.
Mainbrace teams in NSW and QLD joined in the collective Coastrek effort this year. In all, 100 Mainbracers took part, covering a combined 3,240km and raising an amazing $103,936 in total for The Heart Foundation.
