Some people shape individual projects. Dave Hayter shapes how projects begin, and that influence runs through everything that follows.

Recognised as the 2026 Queensland Employee of the Year, Dave has been with Mainbrace for 22 years. He started as a Contract Administrator in NSW, progressed through to Senior Project Manager, and now leads early contractor involvement as ECI Manager.

Dave’s focus in the ECI phase is getting the right things sorted before a project hits site, scope, buildability, coordination. The important conversations happen early, while there’s still room to move. That groundwork is what gives projects a cleaner run from planning through to delivery.

Over the past year, that approach has translated into smoother tender processes and projects that move into delivery well set up. For clients considering early engagement, Dave brings 22 years of experience across both commercial and operational delivery, the kind of background that makes a real difference at that stage of a project.

This is his third time being recognised as Employee of the Year, a reflection of the commitment, loyalty and project experience he brings to Mainbrace year after year.
