Victoria in Full Swing

The year is off to a fantastic start for our Victorian team, with momentum building across key projects and exciting new client partnerships taking shape. One of the highlights is the Chirnside Park Mall upgrade. This is our first project with GPT in Victoria, and we’re eager to strengthen this partnership.

Another significant win is East Sunbury Village, where Woolworths will be the anchor tenant. Through a collaborative effort with Birchmore, we successfully secured over 5% of project value in value management savings. This is our first project with the Birchmore Group nationally, and we look forward to getting started.

Projects Progressing Well

Work is well underway across multiple sites, with several projects tracking ahead of schedule. The Woolworths North Customer Fulfilment Centre is progressing strongly, with the first separable portion on track for handover in mid-June. Our Lifestyle projects are also making great strides – Ridglea is ahead of schedule, with residents eagerly awaiting their new luxury community centre, while St Leonards is also tracking on target. At Centennial, our new business park warehouse and existing asset upgrades have faced some in-ground challenges.  However, strong collaboration between our client, the earthwork contractor, and our team has ensured the right outcomes so far. Meanwhile, our trusted Small Works team has commenced another detailed renewal project at Coles Daylesford, ensuring another successful transformation.

Celebrating Major Milestones

One of the standout achievements for the year so far has been the completion of Costco Ardeer. Practical completion achieved in early March paved the way for an early opening of the Costco fuel station – the largest in Melbourne’s west. The new store has quickly become a landmark in the area, generating plenty of buzz.

As we celebrated International Women’s Day, we also took the opportunity to acknowledge the fantastic contributions of women in our business. A special congratulations to Umran Ustalar for her outstanding work on the Costco Ardeer project. Since joining Mainbrace, Umran has been a driving force, integrating seamlessly with the client and project team to deliver an exceptional result.

With town and shopping centre retail construction developments on the rise, the pipeline for Victoria is looking strong. There’s plenty more to come, and we’re excited for what lies ahead.
