Mainbrace really loves Coastrek!
We love finding creative, original, and enjoyable ways to connect with each other and support our communities. This year marked our third participating in Coastrek in NSW, QLD, and VIC. The event aligns perfectly with our community program MbRACE and one of our core priorities – to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of our team.
On May 3rd, 48 of our NSW Mainbracers set off on the 30km journey from Mona Vale to Balgowlah along the incredibly scenic Sydney Northern Beaches. The only issue… there wasn’t much scenery to be seen through the pouring rain. Trekking through the wet sand and the slippery mud, the rain was relentless for most of their journey. These kinds of conditions really show the true camaraderie of a team, they encouraged each other, pushed each other, supported each other and eventually, crossed the finish line with each other.
It was then Victoria’s turn. On May 24th, 24 of the VIC team walked along the Mornington Peninsula. Two teams tackled the 50km, while the rest sensibly took on the 20km walk. Thankfully, the conditions were much better than NSW with all teams crossing the line, albeit it with a few blisters!
Our QLD team will have their turn on July 19th, and we are keeping our fingers crossed for some nice weather as they enjoy the scenery along the Sunshine Coast.
We are incredibly proud to say we have raised over $41,000 for the Heart Foundation so far to help them with the incredible work they across Australia.
