Woolworths Leppington Village
A green oasis of retail convenience and community
The new $72 million Leppington Village recently opened to the community. It is another fabulous retail construction project we’re proud to have delivered for our long-term client Woolworths.
Leppington Village comprises more than 8,000sqm of retail space including a state-of-the-art full-line Woolworths supermarket, over 30 specialty stores including, a choice of restaurants, cafés and other services, suspended commercial office to serve the rapidly expanding south-western Sydney growth corridor.
A Leading Green Star Centre
The 5-star Green Star Construction centre is a sustainability leader, with an extensive solar PV installation of some 650 panels on the roof set to generate more than 400-megawatt hours of electricity each year. Other green initiatives include recycled brickwork in the façade and six electric vehicle charging bays.
We’re very proud that our waste minimisation focus ensured 95% of construction waste was recycled and re-purposed.
Another major focus was wastewater mitigation. The site had its challenges, being at the base of a hill. Water run-off, particularly through periods of heavy rain, had to be safely managed even as the team completed the expansive underground basement carpark.
At the same time, we successfully delivered major road upgrades, including the completion of internal and external roadworks.
With the doors now open, Leppington Village is quickly becoming an important focal point for the community, a vibrant and convenient place to shop, eat, socialise and access essential services.
We’ve been a busy member of the local community in Leppington for some time. We delivered Bunnings Leppington last year and have a new logistics project next door. Leppington Village is another high-quality addition to our NSW retail construction portfolio.
