500 and counting
On 15 May, Mainbrace turned the first sod on our 500th Project for Woolworths. An incredible milestone possibly not matched in our industry.
The new Woolworths North Parramatta retail construction project in western Sydney. Like all other projects on which we’ve worked with Woolworths, we’re approaching it with a clear plan and a collaborative spirit, we’re prioritising quality and safety, and we’ll deliver on time and within budget.
But this one is special. It’s the 500th project Mainbrace has created for Woolworths. Our relationship spans more than 32 years, commencing from the time Mainbrace was first established, and the projects we’ve worked on together are as diverse in format as they are geographically.
From the first Woolworths supermarket we built in Dickson in 1991, we’ve delivered stores for the company’s portfolio of brands up and down the eastern seaboard, including stand-alone supermarkets, neighbourhood centre, small and large format stores, and head office projects.
Today, in addition to North Parramatta, we’re busy putting the final touches on the new Woolworths Leppington (NSW) while undertaking supermarket refurbishments at Macarthur Square and Westfield Burwood in Sydney, Belmont in Brisbane, and Toorak in Melbourne.
Our 500th retail construction project together is a milestone we were proud to celebrate recently with our friends at Woolworths. In NSW, our teams got together in March at Sala Dining at Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont to enjoy spectacular harbor views on a beautiful day, as well as a fantastic dinner where we heard from the leaders of our respective businesses. It was a pleasure to have our Mainbrace founding Directors in attendance, as they played a big part in establishing our relationship with Woolworths.
Also in March, our QLD team was joined by members of the Woolworths team for a delicious Chinese meal at Donna Chang in Brisbane while in Victoria, members of both teams in the state caught up for dinner at Chancery Lane.
It’s a privilege to have delivered so many projects for Woolworths. We look forward to the next 500.
