Celebrating 10 Years Since DFO Homebush

It’s been ten years since our NSW Construction team successfully completed Mainbrace’s largest project at the time: the extension & redevelopment of DFO Homebush.
The complex project included a new bulky goods retail level, ground level carpark and multi-storey carpark, and the refurbishment of the existing retail mall and tenancies. More specifically, we doubled the retail floor plate, added more than 1100 car spaces, created 22 new mini-major tenancies and reconfigured 90 existing tenancies’, the food court and the amenities.
Being specialists in retail construction, we understand that time is a pivotal factor in any retail construction project. Through detailed planning, coordination between all stakeholders, and a great deal of teamwork we were able to keep The Centre trading throughout all 37 stages of construction. Including the construction of the new five level carpark. This was done while maintaining the safety of the public, the retailers and everyone on site.
The project was led by then Project Manager, now Construction Manager, Chris Coroneos, who is celebrating twenty years with Mainbrace this year. He worked closely with Site Manager, now Senior Site Manager, Paul Hudson to bring this project to life. The two have since teamed up to complete the David Jones Elizabeth Street refurbishment and most recently the Oran Park Podium development. We know that whatever comes next for them both will be another iconic retail project for Mainbrace.
DFO Homebush marked a pivotal moment in Mainbrace’s retail construction journey. Reflecting on the past ten years fills us with immense pride, not just for this project, but for the countless milestones that have followed.
